If you dreamt of her,
that fair, perfect maiden,

The tragedy of the rose is its thorns

my pileup
what have I done?
anxiety's and pain's compacted potions
spirited water and nature's succour
self-medicated
self-mediated
self-mutilated

I rule the kingdom of missing beats
They are discovered late like John Keats

Love is like gold;
difficult to attain and so delicate to hold
Yet, once it is felt,
it can never melt
Through heat and pressure it withstands
Its ownership on our hearts it brands
It waits patiently with one goal;

Forgive me, I implore
I can answer you no more
Though, your heart I do adore
for its actions I must abhor
My attempts to rebuild rapport
have proven false within their core

mistakes and aches
they are minor earthquakes
so simple to make
yet how difficult to take
