Right from the start he was thrown in at the deep-end because the head keeper just handed him a pail of steaks and hustled him through the gates of the enclosure. The logic was that since he was Jewish and not Christian the lions would not have the taste for him that they would have for the other keepers. Roth was dubious about their logic, but he complied.

I wasn’t expecting much out of this day I just wanted it to begin get through it and end. I had just spent a full day painting the eyes for a portrait of Modigliani. It had been quite the labor of love painting his eyes perfectly, as he seemed to judge each and every stroke and dab.

     He had stepped out of his comfort zone only to be greeted by a sense of jubulation and although the swell of his heart just before he made the leap was almost unbearable; his ecstasy reached a new level as he handed the flight attendant his ticket. He was leaving for good and he knew it.

Sometimes I just feel so overwhelmed by everyone else’s wants/needs for my life. 

Every time I pray Dear God let me have the strength to do what needs to be done to guide me on the path YOU have chosen for me.  Help me to be the best person I can, to be kind and courageous.  Allow me the wisdom to see the truth and seek it.
