One Lonely Job

I wouldn't be honest if I said I thought writing was a job for those who loved to be around people. Or for those who wanted constant understanding and support. I remember that white dress.  Engraved in my skull its shadowy ghost haunts my dreams.  She looked so beautiful that night. Her eyes twinkled like stars in the night sky and her happiness invaded the entire room.  Her mom was proud but her dad was prouder.  She found a good man in me but the truth was far too complicated.  I'm a much better person before you know me.

She came to that park once… Was it her? No. He came to that park once to marry her. She was waiting for him. Or was she? She stood alone in the grass that had turned brown. Her eyes couldn’t see.

She was there waiting for the warmth of the sun but there could be no sun because it was the night.
