You don't notice the scars
Until he's gone...
His charm seduces
His smile invites you
Even his clever tongue
Eases your doubts
Yet when he leaves
When his damage is complete
You are tainted...
You cry and weep
You scream and sleep
But you can't escape
The memories....

But we meet them
find them less than men
find them grouchy as men
find them weak and timid men
Then we ask
"Are they really men?"
"Are there men out there?"
"Is there one for me?"
So we wait. And

down. I didn't know how I
managed to keep walking. But
the music oh the music was
so sweet. Asphalt became rivers
and streams of dreams. The sidewalk was
now my dirt pathway. The moon
shown down to transform streetlights
into branches. Concrete slabs were
blocked by tree-trunks occasionally

Over-analyzing or
just thinking contemplating
actions/motives goals-moles-holes
souls and soles
Too much for
one brain to sift through
Answers only bring
more questions with no
solutions or contributions
to the confusion and
dissillusion
of an over-worked mind
