the sheriff and the outlaw

the creature came through the darkness. but with the shadow thankfully still covering his hideously scarred features. the heinous gashes are from battles previously fought. gun shot holes and stabbed blades leaving their mark. 

now we stand face to face or at least twenty paces apart. im the pretty boy they have all been chasing and now i have been chased down to this alley alongside a particularly enjoyable bar.

Let me seek medicine for my soul.
Laughter prayer birds singing or
a quiet gentle breeze.
Let them stroke me like the touch of a Mothers' hand on my forehead.
Let my mind rest and my sleep come peacefully.
Let my burdens flee from me and replace them with a joyful mind.

I feel so alienated because I take interest in what my peers do not. I actually care about learning. I don't want to hear only facts and repeat only facts or speak only facts. They're redundant and useless. They go through one ear and out the other. I demand more. Much more than that. Much more than what I receive.

I live in a small town in what is considered the south. It is nowhere near as exciting as you hear the so called big cities of the north tend to be. Here a fun night out is hitting the local hole-in the-wall bar and singing karaoke. On any given night all ages will make up the attendees of a bar's setting.
