The thumb of the left hand is pressed tightly against the melamine surface of the parallel rule. The fingertips of this hand are pressed tightly against the face of an acrylic drafting triangle pinching it squarely onto the leading edge of the parallel rule. The hand is held tautly but not rigidly. The key is to clench the instruments firmly but flexibly, in a precisely fixed position.

Today is the day to conquer all things unconquerable!!! Just as it was yesterday and as it will still be the same when tomorrow comes rolling upon the bedroom clock...eyes wide never laid to rest...sleep or not the clock still turns the sun still rises and the day plays on with or with out you.
There is a pause. Someone on the opposite end of the receiver is responding. Sarah immediately jabs back.
“Look just who replaced your spine with a rubber band?”
There is another pause.
