casting a web of baneful deceit
A widow of ebony to be sure
impaling her lovers beneath her feet
With her dusky locks, bosoms lush
entrancing smile and siren song
They take the bait in blind trust
she lures them in and strings them along
Keeping them close with seductive whiles
she infiltrates what they holds dear
and feeding from their life's labors
with lurid intent precise and clear
The widow now will strike them down
weary soles of these drained men
Since laid slain and entombed forever
she'll pursue again and again and again

awaiting what life would offer us
but didn't know that while waiting
we passed through all the goods and the greats
we sorrow for what we lost
some stay stuck in their own puddle
while others move on

Acid Veins
Spidering martianscapes,
Ancient valleys
Ruddy and carved deep,
Under wind-bitten sutures;
The Rover rumbles
Finding ghostly faces
Of maybe once

Birds that fly
Birds that die,
You’re all the same
Restless, rare ravens
They pierce the sky
On moonlit nights.
Crazed fears cry
Scared of dreams
You’re all insane
Except I.
The birds will fly
Before they die,
I ran miles
I'd never seen
My fall
In your eyes.
I’ve seen birds fly
I’ve seen them die,
So we baptised
The black raven’s back
With white water
Doused the dying
So that bird could fly.

I'd rather be alone than lonely
sit in a window sill on a rainy day
and feel nothing but pitter patter pitter patter
hold the dark close to me
whisper to the monsters that it will be alright
I will love them
trading rocks through the streets
rough gentle way comforting everything
the rain shatters out a million dreams
that break my eyes
rain boots and slickers
spattered nights of reading
lovers quiet under blankets
caught in the rain
that laugh when I tell them stories of
rats fleeing gutters
an old man who is stronger than he
remembers
how the distance is less
if you promise to never arrive
how the promise of goodbye
sings without joy
the memories reflect, broken
in the rained out window panes
rainbows broken
suns come and go
the shadows are hidden and
revealed
and hidden
I listen to the breaking of the leaves

I love boxes
I love them for how they look
I hate boxes for what they do
I love boxes when they keep me safe;
