New beginnings await me with expectations mounted upon my shoulder like a yoke, I view the expunging year with blithe carelessness Another empty span with no honour nor pride. Pyrrhic victories mocking my light with mundanity Debilitating my esteem and sense of self worth Have transfigured my heart into a haven of worry With each morrow smothered in this slow death. Harbours do entice the faculty anew with vigour Senile hope teaming with the embers of ambition, Jaded heart relentless delves wanting not to veer from the promise of bringing to an end starvation. New beginnings like myriad stars shining abright Shall avert this pauper state to a new fresh start.
