I listen to the cadence impudence of the wealthy;
The suave tongues streaming in sophistry sages,
The prehistoric struggle victors of high nobility
Now caught with the confound of superficial riches.
The perpetual guttural echoes of femine;
The widespread gratitude of dire incendiaries!
And the pauper Natives facing the wrath of prejudice
With the feeble Law itself lost in tumult of jurisdictions.
The symbolic cross for ever unwearing in my heart;
Ne`er will I conjure a smile for the trumpery pundits,
The gains made too invaluable to be amissed
Nor to be belittled with indignation of a irrevered poet.
    Hypocrisy forever rising like a wave on the sea,
    Triton purged of Grace to protect my beloved Africa.
