Run along selfish ego,
Or twice a Picasso
A conscious whispers’
The core of an afro
Art dreamz, I pray
As Jesus did for me
Bleak poems of dreams
A couple canvas’s of poetry
Held on intensely,
By a Van Gogh piece in blue
Run along sleepy eyes,
Downing in dripping hues

I leave to you a life
Clamped in a bucket of legacy
I leave to you peace
Love and lush fantasies
To whom this may groom
Please live for the night
Conversations over coffee
Cigars and city lights
May your days be May
Till the bliss of December
I leave to you clarity
May the name be remembered
Sincerely, Spells

She launches open the front door, slamming it off the wall.
Bolts up the stairs, two at a time.
Her hands clasped tightly,
Held as far away as her arms will let her.
Her head back with a look on her face
As if she were holding a tarantula

“Hey baby”
“Hey you”
“What are you up to?”
“Not much, just writing..”
“Yeah? What are you writing?”
She looks at the paper.
It reads: I’m sorry.
“Oh nothing, it’s stupid.. What are you doing?”

Leave me alone
No wonder they fade by day
Leave me stoned
And let my lows burn away
No wonder they fade
Sour dreams in these feans
A loner I stand
Inside my junkie genes

With all this rain,
And not a snowflake in sight
Aganist my window pain
Looking for Santa tonight
The tree is up,
And the kids are fast asleep
Dreamin' of a white Christmas
As the rain turns to sleet
Sleep my children,
As Santa steers his slade
Dreamin' of a perfect Christmas
A snowfall on Christmas Day

Words can come at such an invaluable price,
The ability to express yourself through words,
Is under-rated.
Struggling with the stories that need to be told,
The starts and stops,
And crumpled up papers.
The poetry shred into confetti,
Because it makes better sense that way.
The fear.

Favorite person,
Created by Gods themselves,
She is mine, and I always love her,
Even when I'm not myself,
Favorite person.

Dark, sweet, chilly air,
Hibernating blankets to be found,
Cuddles to enjoy.

You get to the point,
Where you hate your fucking self,
So you try to die.

I just called to see if you could talk,
To tell you Merry Christmas,
Or at least that's what I said,
Because obviously you couldn't,
Stop to say hello,
Not even for a second,
I could tell by the quick way you answered,
How you been?,
Good.
And so I asked about your life,
And you breathed into the phone,
Letting me know you didn't have a good connection,
So I chose not to tell you,
That I've missed you again,
That I dreamt of you last night,
Of Christmas at Aunt Gwens...
I chose not to tell you,
That I dreamt of your voice,
I had to call you,
I wasn't given a choice,
But thank you for being so...
Preoccupied,
A little of your life,
Did you let me spy,
You're still the same Topher,
Just grinding the stone,
And maybe I'm not the only one,
Who feels so alone.

Over marshmallows and lit joints
She laughs the night away
Thus buzzing from the times
Of her and JFK
We grin and more giggles
Conversing as if for years
She laughs a bit more
Oh Marilyn, my dear
I’ll paint your toe nails
Just stay my dear
Smoked joints and cigarettes'
