Sometimes I worry that the sea
isn’t turning its pages
quickly enough to compensate
for the turning of the earth.
Sometimes I worry that the hills
won’t erode enough to expose
the entire truth of bedrock.
You never fret about birdsong
dropping a sour note or two
or about oaks losing count

And sometimes wondered what was all the worrying about?
What for all the hustle and bustle and desperate need
That kept everyone running everywhere at mindless speed?
What was the gem that made everyone dying to find it
Which

I cried you an ocean
Long ago
But I’ll share with you
Whatever’s left

He's running at my open door
faster than he's run before
and as I see a tear stream by
torn by wind from his left eye
I slam the door on his embrace
I cut the prize out of his race
but with my hand still hesitating
I watch his just keep right on racing

Her name is unimportant to me
But for all her beauty she is Aphrodite
The goddess of love the goddess of my heart
And I hate it whenever she and I are apart

Take a moment hear the sounds
Take a moment smell the air
Hear children play
Hear laughter and screams
Smell the moist in the ground
Smell the wetness on your feet
Hear the basketball and football
Smell the sweat in the wind
Hear the crumbs in the sand
Smell the liquid in the

I found your shirt in a box
on my closet floor. The brown
one with the lace around the
sleeves.
I was surprised to recall
The many times you wore it.
the feel of it when we embraced
and the way it smelled like you. It now
only smells of a box on my

Floating high
but sinking low
with the happinesss
strapped to the back
of my head.
All I can see
in front of me
is the dark.
I stick my feet
in the cool black mud
and it feels good
but it shouldn't.
Do we have to want
only clean shiny
bright windows?
I love mud

Today when you kissed me
I knew it was fall again
I felt the year come around
I felt your flannel shirt on my skin.
And your arms around me
Felt different and the same.
Later I sniffed you
Carrots and soap
Like last

Roll Roll
Down thundering canyon
Grass dust
Billow behind in rotund clouds
Swarming in tempestuous society
Gathering for a brief moment
only to sigh a heaving separation
and radiate towards unknown destinations
in undulating waves of careless.
The unblinking eye steadies the path
Boldly facing the course with effort

With these four walls around me
A ceiling above and floor below me
I am the dead and forgotten.
With no memories left to entertain me
No dreams left to comfort me
I am the dead and forgotten.
With no sign of life coursing my veins
