He grew up not knowing who he is

No father to look to, not there to turn to

A major part of his life missing

Only flash backs in his head to cling to

An ache in his heart he doesn’t know how to fill

Needs a positive male figure to guide him right

His mother is doing the best she can

But only a man can teach him to be a man

Who but a strong black man

Can help him with the tribulations

Of being a black boy in this society

Educate his young mind to be strong

And not be lead astray

To stop him falling in to the traps that lay ahead

Help him stay on the right line

To  educate  his young mind

Because education is the key

A step up to be what he wants to be

Not just a stereotype in societies mind

Falling in to traps of jail or gun crime

The strong black men of our community

Needs to teach black youths

The most POWERFUL thing they can be

Is to be mentally free
