Why must the heart

Beat me so

This soft desirable criminal,

Sentenced to

Solitary confinement

In quivering quiet refinement,

You alone ravish

This mending heart,

And safe behind bars

Of chess bone jail,

Barred from your love

So I won’t tell,

Of your sentencing

This first degree hell,

Your lies of knives

No more parole my pain,

Lies that cut beneath the low

Leaving blood heart stains,

Why must you beat me so

Oh heart of mine,

You soft criminal
