To my dying friend

Forever is your face at my windowsill

Forever is your heart forever is your will

Forever are the thoughts I give to you

In this life and the next and the next
Forever is your soul though not in this world
Forever in this universe we do not call home
A dark place we see, as we gaze heavenly
But forever are we, in this darkness so heavenly
And we are the stars, we are eternal
We are light in space nocturnal
You will be a star above my mind
And a light I am drawn to in this world so wild
It is not death you must be, you are life within us
Within me

Forever is your face, at my windowsill
Forever is your heart, forever is your will
Within me
Within us, life you are, not death
You are a soul at your core and depth
An enigma no one shall break
Energy tearing apart our world, an earthquake
The physical is gone, the spirit remains
Your power is forever, and will not wane
Forever is the rain, forever is our pain
My friend, I will bear it all in your name
And we shall meet again
Forever is your soul in our world
And this universe we should declare home
