SOW ALONE
Stand alone in winter freeze
As autumn robs your leaves
Shade against the summer heat
Sway alone in springtime breeze.
Then out
Out you shout
And sprout
In a rush
From natures crust
You thrust
From a seed
And touch
The sky you need
To breath
So much you’ve seen
Alone
You grow
Enclosed in bark
Alone in midnight dark
You spark
Your roots you’ve sown
Into and from the earth
You’ve known
Alone
Your spring
In springtime green
With gold
That autumn gold that knows
You’re growing old
In young time green
Or ancient gold
Alone
Old
Yes natures old
Then told
As you recall it all
From wince you came
You fall
To your earth
She calls
The one who’s given birth
To all
All Alone.
Down
So big and round
You lay flat on the ground
Decayed in rain
That pounds you down
Into the ground
You’ll stay
Alone
Then out
Out you shout
And sprout
In a rush
From natures crust
You thrust
From a seed
And touch
The sky you need
To breath
So much you’ve seen
Alone.
