Wake up in haste to man-sized flames

Inside a vacant room

Tips of death they brush your chest

Deadly thoughts now bloom

At long last I leave this place

Gain vengeance on this street,

The place where I grew up,

Is now the ash beneath my feet;

I have to go, before I’m found,

Before the cops roll through;

I have to leave this wretched place,

Where I was once abused.

I run outside, caught up in flames,

Flesh oozes from my bone,

I’m going to a place,

Where my kind is not alone,

Pat out my flames, and up the pace,

I have somewhere to go,

Before they find the gasoline,

I poured on all their clothes.

The rain came down so fierce that night,

Like a restless, wounded beast,

Then everything fell silent,

As I sprinted down the street.

A mile away, I turned around,

To witness what I’d done,

A family that tortured  me,

Is burning, on the run.

I sprint again, a sense of pride,

A smile on my face,

After eighteen years of torture,

I’ve finally found my place,

Among my peers are Manson,

Montresor and Cain,

Finally, I join them,

On a realm-defying train.

It only takes a moment,

For this flaming train to soar,

A final whistle wakes the town,

A fiend screams “ALL ABOARD,”

I take a final look around,

This earth as I descend,

A place where I had nothing,

For me, a place that ends,

I think back to the arson,

And the smile on my face,

I think of Cain, and ancient sins,

Inside the human race.

There’s no doubt about it,

It was the flames that saved my place,

It’s humorous to me,

That Hells’ flames are now my fate.
