(Alex is taking Jacob in to the hospital)

It’s Ok. Son! Look at me. We can go to the jungle but we have to take steps. Hop in! You’re driving.
(Talking about the hospital and life in general)Jacob

Alex
Son the jungle is wear lions and tigers live. You don’t want to be eaten. So don’t go unprepared. Do you have your fake meat stash? Do you have your mallet to hit snakes with? You’re going to need your mane because you’re a mighty king! And you’re going to need your Bible. You have to experience it, just like I….Son, you’re speeding. You’re speeding son, watch out for that tree!

This is not going to be easy. We’re going to need your expertise.

Air support we’ve got a big one. There’s a dent about the size of ocean on this car. Oh my goodness! Jacob get out of the car! Air support the car is going under. Right in front of our eyes the ground just gave way. And the soil…Jacob stand far away! No Jacob!

The ocean!

The ground just turned into a vast ocean.
Air Support (Ruth)

Jacob
Look dad, a boat!
Alex
Triple A is far from us now, dear
Jacob
This is so cool. It’s real cherry wood. Like pirates!
Alex

Jacob
This is so cool!
Air Support
Do I need to start cooking dinner
Alex
No honey, I think this will take awhile. Keep it simmering. Wait up Jacob I’m coming!

EXT. THE OCEAN
(Alex and Jacob)
(Jacob and Alex enter the world of the wild and get closer to healing)
Alex
Jacob! Jacob!
Jacob
Wow! Let’s take it out for a spin. Can we dad?
Alex
Well it doesn’t look like anybody else is miles from here, so I guess we can take a little trip.
Jacob
Cool! Let’s go
[Inside the boat]
Alex
Jacob I know you want to go to the jungle and that can happen; I just want you to be safe. The jungle is a dangerous place. Things could happen that you don’t expect. Be prepared to get hurt. But we can manage the hurt if we are careful. I want you to do your best. You are smart. And I want you to have the best life possible, but I still see signs that things aren’t going so well with you. Is everything Ok.
Jacob
Everything’s fine.
Alex
I also noticed you stopped taking your medicine
Jacob
I think I’m finished with these beans; they’re stuck to the cup.
Alex
It’s ok Jacob. I know you don’t understand everything right now, but things will work out for you. God has plans for you…what are you doing? Jacob? Don’t get off the boat!

Wait Jacob! Don’t go over the boat!

Alex

[Jacob is thrown into the sea by a huge sea monster]
Alex
Come here you soulless, slithery, serving for 2. You’re not going to take off with my son! He’s mine!
Jacob
Dad he’s hurting me
Alex
I’m coming
[Alex and the sea monster fight and struggle then Alex rises above the sea monster and slashes its side and it slumps down into the sea and wonders off. Jacob has been in the sea all this time and is struggling to keep afloat.]
Alex
Got you Jacob. Don’t let go.
[Back in the boat]
Alex
Can you hear me. Jacob can you hear me?
Jacob
Dad you were so great! I wish I could be like that.
Alex
I need you to stay with me. Your bleeding pretty bad and I need to stitch you up.
Jacob
Thanks Dad
[Water slowly starts to come down then great pouring down with thunder and lighting and great waves of the sea. It is very dark]
Alex
Oh Beauty of Heaven and Earth! That’s a mountain of a wave. You come crashing down on me yet! YAAAHOO! Is that all you got for me! I’ll ride you to kingdom come
Jacob
Dad?
Alex
Look son the waves are coming in strong! Ten men couldn’t brave this wave!
Jacob
I can’t
Alex
Wahooo! C’mon son you can do it!
Jacob
No Dad. It’s the medicine. It makes me sick
[Back in the real world on their way to the mental hospital]
Alex
I know son that’s why we’re getting help. Can’t you see we can beat this!
Jacob
But all I wanted to do in life is go to the jungle and I won’t have that chance.
Alex
Why Jacob?
Jacob
Because all my life I’ll be in and out of the hospital. I’ll be too brain dead to realize that my life is mundane and not worth anything
Alex
Jacob-
Jacob
No Dad. You don’t understand! I’m too depressed to enjoy anything. Now is my time to start living. And we’re going back to the hospital. I’ve been to hospitals way too much and what have they done for me?
Alex
[Back in the sea]
I need you to grab the sail now
Jacob
But dad! Why do you always do this?
Alex
You want to be wild! Here’s your chance.
Jacob
I’m still hurt from when I fell in.
Alex
I know son, but I need you now.
Jacob
I’m coming.
Alex
Grab the sail and follow me. WAHOOO!
[Back in reality, they drive up to the mental hospital]
Alex
We’re right down the street if you need us. If you need anything just call us. I going to walk with you in there. But I just want to say I love you and I’m here for you. You’re going to get better I have no doubt in that. Just hang in there with me and you will see.

I’m going to call mom and tell her that we’re here.
Jacob

Air support we’re a go. We’ve arrived and we’re about to settle in.
