I slip away in my minds eye
to see what my idol is doing
He's kicked back in his lazy chair
sipping a cup of coffee
His eyes scan the room
and delighted he seems to be
He's spotted sweet forget-me-nots
left scattered all over the place
reminders that His precious we-ones
will return to busily rearrange the love notes
Daddy rests and waits, kicked back in his lazy chair
The silence beats as drums in his ears
but his calm mind puts his fears to rests
and He wipes his tears away
cause he knows that this time of rest is needed
so he can play
when again his we-ones appear and crawl up in
Daddy's lazy chair.
