To June

But of course I have always loved you

Before caterpillars learned to grow wings

Before Medusa lost her body

Before sailors heard sirens

In white flames of a blacksmith hearth

Orange flames burnt both our hearts

Forging this wedding ring

As the first song learned to sing

Before light learn to crack dawn

Before Rome had a catholic king

Before green wandered into lawns

You were always my only everything

 Shine leans away from you

Jealous of the things you do

Stoic embraces your face

Light of day can hardly wait

To rise and remove nights gloom

To smooth morning dew full of grace

My body heat and essence must wait

For the sweet summer fragrance of June

No heat can find December

All but in June I can’t remember

Flower pads land butterflies

Trees sling sparrows to sky

I stand still as a tomb

Background flowers abloom

On summer wind you arrived

All hair in the air part the sky

Showing way to the summer ball

In your hands you create this man

As time traps all the sand

It’s then I realize I’ve got it all

As you burn a small kiss on my lips

In June lye’s the summer’s bliss

Without your spring only winter and fall

But of course I have always loved you

All the year long!
