It’s not the grey but the yellow we adorn

And not really the heart but thoughts we explore

And so we flit and flicker and fondle

Fingers ruffle the water of our shores

Knowing the storms will wet our face

Yesterday’s trace our failure and glory

The campfire forces forest shadows to obey

Noises in the dark begin beckoning us, its prey

White gas lantern search for glow back eyes

But it’s the dark calling out our little white lies

Our minds unadulterated pigs

Eat defenseless swine only one side of us shines

The hungry wolf becomes the hunted prey

We protect the bunnies at all cost in the day

But nocturne’s left trails of their dung

On two fast feet we are on the run

Our guns braver than all or anyone

We have our needs, our deeds we’ve done

Society sews the cloths we wear

But inside death lingers everywhere

I am unabashed and unashamed

Nature has underwritten my name

And although you may not think so

This secret can unfurl in your soul

As black is dark in Nighttime Park

A spark will ignite your hidden woes
