It was just time for it
and the feet had their way
so I did it without a thought
and with a thousand new thoughts
wandered away.
I walked away just like that
and I returned again walking
stopping just beside you
at sunset.
You didn't move
or even look my way
yet the air grew warm
and the sky held a more subtle hue.
