Are we in for a treat
The sun beating down on us
Heating up the ground we stand on
Electric no wonder
We worship and build a shrine
Electric sunshine beatin down
To the inside of bones
How I love you in my back
On my mind
Electric sunshine all round my throne

Everyday at noon you
Heat up my home
The stars come and chill the night
I don’t enjoy that cool down
I enjoy the electric sun
I’ll sit and stare from under
My tin roof and gaze
Into the distance the horizon shows
A heat haze
How I wonder this phenomenon
The electric sun
I don’t worry about the rest of the world

They don’t see what I have
My love affair
Prickles my skin
My hair stands on end
I am content to watch and learn
I long and yearn for it
To be mine
Electric sunshine
I’ll sit under my tin roof

In Africa
Unafraid, bare and brave
My lips all chapped
My brow covered in sweat
Feeling heat in my bones
This is a treat everyday
But a secret to me
Forever unknown
I don’t wish to see the stars
I wait for the sun
Wait for midday blazes
When my mind starts to race for miles
From me and from my tin roof in Africa
Electric sunshine
My divine
