I hold my hands over my eyes and think

What to do how to act

And answers lye hidden on the narrow path.

I see bright lights

They illuminate an ocean of fear dread

All piled up within

Nowhere to hide.

As if I cannot breath

Each breath brings new sorrow and bereavement,

The longer I live, the more it hurts,

I try to fight, but the fight is over.

I close my eyes, meditate:

Wanting to yell, scream, prostrate myself on the kitchen floor,

Barely fit to be called a kitchen,

And I cry.

I want to melt away with the rain,

Distill my spirit within shadows,

Run, run,

Don’t waste your time,

Calm after a storm.
