It was around four on a sunny afternoon on a Saturday that the whole thing happened. There were two friends that were playing video games,John and Natalie, and were spending the day together for the weekend at John's house. After a while they got bored of playing games. Natalie was on the phone texting with John next to her.

" I'm so bored now... isn't there anything else to do?" asked Natalie.

It looked like Natalie had not left a single care for the world. She slumped on the couch just lazing about groaning with boredom. She looked towards John and from the look of it, he was thinking hard. She got curious of what he was thinking.

" What are you thinking John? You got something exciting to see?"

John was just staring down at the ground thinking. Then he slowly looked up and turned towards Natalie.

"You want to see something interesting?" he asked.

Natalie became curious by what John said. She wanted to do anything then being bored any longer.

"Sure. As long as I don't sit here rotting away with boredom..."

John got up and said to her," Follow me to the backyard. There is something that I want you to see."

Natalie shook her head in agreement and followed John to the backyard. He led her to the corner and there was a small shack. It looked old by its appearance with the chipped white paint and the rotting wood. There was no window but a single door that led inside. The door handle was rusted shut and it looked like the entire shack was about to fall apart. But the fact that it stood for so long only means that it has such a rich history behind it. Natalie was beginning to get more curious by the minute.

" How did the shack even end up here? How come I did not notice it all this time?

"Well you never asked to come out to the backyard. Anyways this shack was here for a while. My father told me that the shack came with the house when he first bought it. The previous homeowner said something about how the shack is not natural, but who believes in ghost stories in this day and age?"

Natalie ignored the last comment. She was satisfied enough and wanted to go back in the house. But John was attracted by the mystery of the shack.

"I'm going to take a look inside. I want to find out once and for all what is inside this damn shack. My father always told me to stay away, but hell, I'm just too curious now."

Natalie knew that it was a bad idea. She warned John about his curiosity.

"There is a saying that curiosity killed the cat. If your father told you to stay away, then there must be a reason. Let's go back inside now."

John did not want to miss this chance of finding out what is in the shack.

"This is a once in a lifetime chance Natalie! I can finally beat pace after I find out what is in here."

"John, this is your backyard. You can always do it yourself."

Natalie was about to head back inside, but John grabbed her by her arm.

"Let's find out together. Once we find out what is inside, we can go back to doing our regular thing."

Natale looked at him with some reluctance, but eventually gave in. She agreed to his request.

"Sure thing John. But once we find out what is in here, we go back and drop this subject, got it?"

John nodded in agreement and was happy that she decided to follow him along. They approached the shack and tried to open the door, but the door was rusted shut.

"The door ain't gonna budge, John. How do you propose we go in?" asked Natalie.

"I'm thinking about that... Stay right here. I'll be back in a moment."

John hurried out of the backyard and went back into the house. Moments later, he came back out with a sledgehammer in his hands.

"Natalie, move back! I'm going to smash this thing wide open!"

"John, you sure that is a good..."

Suddenly John took the sledgehammer and struck down towards the door. Natalie shrieked and covered her face. John took couple more swings towards the door until the door was completely broken.

"That went well. Let's go take a look inside now shall we?"

"John, next time you do something like that again, I will kill you!"

"Sorry, Natalie. But the job is done now right? Let's go take a look inside."

They went inside the shack, and found something interesting. There was a chain that connected to the walls on both side of the shack. In the middle of the chain, there was a sign in bright red that read "DO NOT ENTER" with a red smear of what looked like a handprint. Behind the chain was a small pathway that led downwards. Natalie was beginning get nervous.

"John... you sure you want to go down there? The sign says not to enter after all..."

He looked back at Natalie. He noticed that Natalie was shaking.

"It looks like someone is getting scared. If you cannot handle it, then I'll go by myself."

"Who says I'm scared? I'm just worried that's all."

"Then stick close and follow me. By the way, you got a flashlight with you?"

"I got a app if that works."

"That's fine enough. Now let's go explore the deep depths of this shack."

Natalie took out her phone and activated her flashlight app. John lead in front while she was following him through the back. Then they began to walk down the path one step at a time, not knowing where it leads.

"How can all this be covered by a single shack?" asked Natalie.

"I don't know. But we are here to find that out now aren't we?" replied John.

Moments later, they reached the bottom of the path. It led to an entrance of a room. John pushed at the door and it had no resistance, but rather a loud creak when moved. The room itself was covered in dust. The walls were white but no furniture or any objects, not even a small light to turn on. John turned around to see if anything was wrong and checked to see how Natalie was doing.

"You alright Natalie?"

"I'm okay."

"You sure? If you want to go back up you can."

"Nah, it's alright. Might as well stick with you through the end."

He used the phone to shine around the area for a bit before noticing a man sized hole on the wall. From its appearance, the hole was made a while back. It was covered in spider webs and dust. John removed the spider webs and blew off the dust. Then he approached the hole, one slow cautious step at a time.

"Hey Natalie. Check this out. I'm going to take a closer look, so stay behind me."

"I'm not arguing with you there John. Be careful... I have a bad feeling about this..."

"Careful is my middle name."

John chuckled for a brief moment. As he approached the hole, he shined the light towards it. Then there was a low growling sound coming from the hole. He and Natalie stood frozen where they stood.

"John... what is that sound...?"

John did not give a response. He was visibly shaking to his core and tried to calm down.

"Na..Natalie... I think we should get out of here..."

"John, what are you say..."

"RUN, Natalie! RUN!"

As soon as John screamed, a sudden silhouette popped out of the hole. Then John fell to the ground and was being dragged towards the hole.

"Oh my God! John!"

Natalie ran to John and began pulling him towards her. She was using all her might to save him. When she looked at what was pulling him, she was shocked in horror. There was a gigantic hand pulling John towards its direction. It was covered in red liquid dripping, which turned out to be blood. When the palm opened, there was large green eyes of death staring at John and it had a mouth big enough to eat a whole person. The mouth had razor sharp teeth ready to tear flesh into shreds in a matter of moments. It bit John on the left leg and slowly started pulling John toward it.

"It got me in the leg! It fucking burns!"

Natalie jumped toward John and grabbed him by his arms. She tried to pull him back with all her might, but she was losing this fierce tug of war against the fierce and ferocious monster.

"John, I can't hold on any longer!"

"Natalie! Just run! RUN..."

'I can't leave you like this!"

"NO! Just get out of here!"

Then moments later, the red hand pulled John inside and he let out a bloodcurdling scream.Natalie screamed her lungs out towards John.

"John! NO!"

Then there was silence. However, the silence was momentary as sounds of crunching followed suit. Natalie realized that John was being eaten alive. His screams resumed while filled with horror and pain. The torturing sound of his flesh being torn apart was loud loudly while the munching noises made by the red hand was heard with fearful clarity. Natalie ran upwards as fast as she can towards the exit. She ran towards the sunlight and outside the shack. She kept running and running and did not even look back.

That day changed her. She never recovered from that shock. Whenever she sees anything white or holes, she would react in panic. She would suffer for years until she was admitted to a mental institution. Then one day, a nurse decided to check up on her. Upon entering the room, she saw Natalie and screamed. She saw that Natalie had killed herself by hanging with the bed sheets. The nurse called the doctors for help but they could not revive her. Then they noticed that her eyes were pointing at a certain direction. What she was staring at was a drawing of a hole on the wall. There was a drawing of a chain in the middle and it had the red sign "DO NOT ENTER" all colored over with red. Then behind it was a red hand, ready to grab whatever was within its grasp...
