Don't do this, don't do that
You have to be this, you have to be that
Always telling us what to do
You have no idea how important we are to you

Never letting us be
Always putting us down
Never letting us be free
Always pulling us to the ground

Empowering and loving, us women stand tall
Together we stand and we refuse to fall
Being judged by society and never accepted
Never accepted and always rejected

If we're fat, we have to be skinny
If we're skinny, we have to be fat
You try to control us, when in fact
You can't tell us that our lives should be in a specific format

We are made to be different
Not all the same
Nowadays no one is reverent
And it is truly such a shame

You think it's ok to treat me like property
You think it's ok to lower my self esteem
You think that none of it bothers me
But remember everything is not what it seems

A woman showing skin is called a whore
A woman covered up is oppressed
Us women will not stand for this judgment anymore
It is my body and I'll choose how it is dressed

You can hate what I do silently, I don't care
But you can't take my rights away from me, how is that fair
One quick glance is the trigger for the whispers and stares
Society needs judgement, like lungs need air

We're called crazy and confusing
Without being understood
Sometimes we're nice, sometimes we're menacing
Not everyone's all bad, but not everyone is all good

Us women, deserve respect
And we will take nothing less
