We watched the suns silk begin to rise
Pink became the beauty in morning sky
Clouds scratched the back of mountains
Snow cap cones became frozen fountains
My eyes began melting and no wonder why
Two bald eagles were making love to the sky
.
We danced the night around open flames
No other place have I been so untamed
Yellowstone home of nature’s freedom
Repairs the soul and stop’s the bleed’ in
And as the ground begins to tremble
Old faithful still her number one symbol
.
I know city nights glimmer in diamonds
In daylight many head to their city parks
Where children play and dogs can bark
A refuge away from the city grind
But the undercarriage has its crime
To each their own in their own time
.
Here morning eggs and bacon take no vacation
And morning trout jump the air with adulation
Doves take flight in first light of the meadow
A black bear scratches against the tree hollow
As doe’s pop their sprung legs toward shade
And I realize its here that my hearts been slain
.
Growing in summer hot air slumbers on by
And crisp cold snow of winters can thrive
Leaves choose which way they’ll blow
Evening fires create a special glow
Musical trees with beautiful tones
Atlas I’ve have found my home
Yellowstone my Heart
In the day or in the dark!
