09     In  A  Perfect  World....

I  won the Noble prize last night

while Einstein chatted bout his speed of light

and Winston Churchill walked  his dog

while  Sherlock Holmes detected fog.

Am I fiction or am I fact?

Some pertinent data is all I lacked.

I turned around and quizzed King Kong,

he growled,  “It’s a musical, sing a song.”

He put on giant monkey taps,

with 4/4 beat the time elapsed.

I belted out ‘Stardust’ till the break of dawn,

then stopped to smell the roses,  waltzing on George Gershwin’s lawn.

Outlandish world where all things meet,

I’ve reserved a timeless front row seat,

where happy,  unhinged dreams are real,

Infinite possibilities;  such great appeal.

And I have found my true vocation,

“I’m a Smiler-In-Imagine-Nation.”
