I was there when the walls collapsed to look out upon the burning valley to step out of a world destroyed and empty... I was there in the end to erect life taken from me and finally recollect the fragments of my destiny

Knowing

A thousand suns may burn me, a thousand rivers drown me, all the mountains of the earth may fall, every volcano erupt, the storms may come, until I lay within the dust, the grains of sand imprinted in flesh and bone, whilst thunder rages over me and I lay mute

Until this very moment, when the sky plummets, and the earth rises, and I along with You am caught between, silence will reign and the clouds will continue to pass us by, stones will take their ground and the wind will fail to move them, our smiles will never die as we catch the gaze of a stranger, knowing we live

Knowing

I was there when the walls collapsed, to look out upon the burning valley, to step out of a world belonging to me, destroyed and empty, I was there in the end, to erect life, taken from me, and finally recollect the fragments of this planned destiny
