MOMENTS
Now I see your face across a crowded room
Drifting in and out of shadows like a star;
Lifting from every space all darkness and gloom
And filling it with light wherever you are.
Oh I see your face at the break of each dawn
Like the first day when we awoke together.
And while only moments have passed since you've gone,
My eyes feel certain that it's been forever!
Then suddenly the morning returns with you,
And you're standing there filling my empty eyes.
Like a dry leaf longing for a speck of dew;
For a moment of keeping...that too soon dies.
So I rush to the contours of your face
And kiss your soul until my lips are swollen.
For I would give my life to keep your embrace,
Since such moments are frail...and always stolen.
