In that small moment
Resting safely in time
When I first saw you
And your eyes met mine
My soul cried with joy
Upon finding its lost half.
Then your smile so coy
Made my heart laugh
For it knew what it had found
Though it could hardly comprehend
The enormity of it all
As I passed you in the wind.
The two people that we are
Had
raced out in between,
But our bodies were slow
To let elation be
seen.
And yet, we both knew
All this and more
Our whole selves
simply smiling
While over us the rain did pour...
And
suddenly,
I wasn't alone anymore.
