Carol Roan began performing professionally as a singer at eighteen and currently teaches voice and stage presence in Winston-Salem, NC, USA. She is the author or editor of six books, including Speak Up: The Public Speaking Primer (Press 53, 2010) and Clues to American Dance (Starrhill Press, 1993), and has a short story in Minerva Rising. She is President of Winston-Salem Writers.
