A Thought In The Night

Clouds cover the sun and the light no longer shines.
As the wind blows, a chill sinks to my bones.
Earth's Beauty is but a memory of the mind.
Life is but a journey of the unknown.
Knowledge, like a storm, pours into the brain.
The walls of fear are strongly built.
Innocence, dead, like an old corpse slain.
Birth given to red roses of guilt.
Humans are puppets to Father Time
and pons to the reaper of the night,
Love, lust, and passion makes eyes blind.
Betrayal often gives back sight.
A scorned woman bleeds for pleasure.
A deceitful friend smiles when you're weak.
The pain in the world cannot be measured.
What is it in life that we seek?
