The Deafening Sound

She sucks her breath through her swollen nostrils,

The sound...

Is deafening.

She cannot breathe on island ground,

Her eyes swell up,

They're blinding.

Benadryl brings no relief,

The scratching goes untamed,

Her ear-drums itch...

There is NO sound...

The silence,

is deafening.

This is a vivid piece about allegies? Great work.
