I am a Double Life

Star InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar Inactive

I am a Double Life

I live in quiet suburbs

I am the soft hand on sullen cheeks

I am the glue that binds family and tradition

But when sweet night carries me away

I venture to thick forests and live from a knapsack

I am the warmth beside you under starry skies

I am the passion and force, the beautiful self-knowing

In each of these lives I am me, and in each of these lives you are you.

And so the words will flow hot as hell cold as snow. We are poets and so many creatures are alive in us. Love the sincerity of this piece. Caught between who we are and who we should have been.

Excellent job, Leslie. I just used your work as a reference point for a young poet that recently joined our community, Krista: http://hennensobserver.com/k.r.k/

I dig this a lot. You painted the very picture of who you are. Feel like I know you already. Simply Beautiful
