So sweetly,

cigarette smoke

matches the sinew-

ous swirls of

your dress, blowing

in the summer sunset;

The fall rolls in,

on cold air’s broad wings.

My skin,

belongs to you,

and my bones will stutter.

Set rhythm to our teeth

parade,

Our tongues, dance under back lighting.

A snowglobe of water drops:

And

Behind her eyes

the mountains of hope.

Peaks pure with snow,

like glass rain.
