The Treacherous Snow

Star InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar Inactive

Smells cold, be bold

Open up your eyes

Crawl closer, peep over

Prepare for a surprise.

White, blinding. Grass? Hiding,

Where to find the food?

Pups crying, hunger, dying,

Have to feed my brood.

Ground soft, Owl’s aloft,

Screaming through the sky,

Can’t run, I’m done

I wish that I could fly.

Shadow creeping, wings beating

Soft-white makes moving grim.

Paws thrashing, tail lashing

Eyesight is growing dim.

Sharp pain, blood drain

Bright red across the white

Feathers drifting, body lifting,

And now forever night.
