Love in Darkness

I have learnt to love in darkness
Behind closed windows and doors
In dark corners and alleys
Places where no one dare goes

When the curtains are drawn
And closet doors are closed
I know it is my time to love

I have learnt to love in darkness
Stifling moments of pleasure
Stealing silent kisses
Whispering how much I love her

I must love in silence
Never should my love for her be louder than their hatred of me
Hatred of the way I love her
The way I love her in darkness
