Dangerous Molasses

thick, slick, gooey,

poison.

s-l-o-double you

over poison.

 

spilling sticky death

with

no breaths

only suffocation.

 

root-beer simmered

seafood

floating and rotting

to the top.

 

across the rocks

under docks

exploded into pieces

of shame.

First off I love the "Slow" word play. Second I like seeing you utilize the "natural state" of your surroundings to polish up this poem. It's still almost a defecating poem with the use of the words. Are these dead Jellyfish?

Squid, eels, fish and crabs a whole molasses boil There was a spill in the harbor here and the fish seemed to be cooked under water. The skins and scales, tails and shells were everywhere. They've been trying to keep it "cleaned up" but you know...

They've been trying to keep it "cleaned up" but you know what that means right? damage control. i.e. buckets or dead sea life. Very sad.
