A love not allowed

I fight the flight of my mind, the flutter of bended lashes-
The trouble of overthinking every step of any regard-
For I think with my toes against the concrete,
Forever forward I follow the overwhelming fire-
The one that burns, It claws its way from the depth
Of secret nights, of shared fantasy, of forbidden fruit,
The long bat of the eyelid that remains ever open,
The generic trance, the livid contraception of sinful wiles,
Keeps me always the voyeur to the settling of dust,
The calm that captivates the satiated,
The queer myth of internal peace-

internal peace is as elusive as a newt on a slippery creek rock....however, this poem all but punches the throat....subtlety be damned! the metaphors here fall ripe from the tree and stick with you long after the dust settles. kudos!
