When oft forgotten the truth last sought,

and whole dreams are no longer bought,

with daring whispers all for naught,

then there will I stand.

With defiant leper's glaring eyes,

cutting trenches in marbled lies,

seeking darkness in light's disguise,

then there will I stand.

Upon the broken dream's retreat,

the vulgar sigh made obsolete,

and tumbling towards memory's street,

then there will I stand.

Despite the rinsing of lust to gray,

and the beating of the youth away,

while doubting the promise of the day,

then there will I stand.

As always, with you come words of wonder. This has shades of "I am woman hear me roar" But from a more personal P.O.V., Anothe very good poem.
