You Are

You are

The tired grey eyes

Behind glasses

Looking into me

The warmth beaming from them

Like sunshine

In December

You are

The first breath of spring air

After the longest winter

Filling my lungs

With love

That I would breathe forever

If you would let me

You are

The warm hand

Grasping mine

As we run through the cold

Freezing outside

But inside,

We are not cold at all

You are

The last thought in my head

As I fall asleep

The last pain

I felt

Stab through me

The last chance I gave

You are

So much more beautiful

Than she will ever understand

But I pray

With all my heart

That you understand

Exactly what you are
