And at a distant time,

I could reach and touch,

Everything that means,

So much to me today,

And at a different place,

I easily forgot,

About all of the hours,

That I've wasted away,

And there was you,

My saving grace.

Years held in my hand,

I've had within my grasp,

A lifetime through my fingers slips,

The falling sand in glass,

And there was you,

My saving grace.

Very nice, haunting poem. It was simply stated and elegant. Great job!
