In Love With Two

In love with one, or in love with two

my soon to be or his best man.

The devil in my head and in my heart.

Life is so deadening in this tiny town.

Nothing to do and no where to go

In love with one, or in love with two

Spend my time with them both,

funny stories and games all night.

They tend to play all the same roles

they're ratherthe same,

but so different too.

Stepping on new territory.

with every leading text.

in love with one,or in love with two

One loves and one cares.

One has and one wants,

and the devil forgets,

two cant play at every game.

My heart suffers,

it's being torn in seperate directions.

the choice is made we leave at dawn,

his best man and I,

In love with one, but leaving with two

Author's Note:

This is a piece I wrote when I was stuck in between to guys one being my Fiance and the other his best friend, I was so confused on what to do I had never felt the way I did for his best friend and I also didn't want to throw away the relationship I had for something that may not be what it seemed. Thats when I started this piece and I got the first two verses complete and realised I had no idea what the ending was or even how to approach it, which is when i realised if I want an ending then I have to make a choice, regardless of who got hurt because nothing was going to change until I did, so I followed my heart and took a chance. Leaving me with what turned out to be the best choice I could have made.

Thank you for this poem, Jessica. Its subject matter almost seemed like it came from a Hollywood script. But your afternote put that thought to rest. Great poem and welcome to Hennen's!
