Haiku (Trilogy)

The Clue

rose attar on suede
warm velvet petals poised on
finespun leather strands.

Furtive Freeze

tilted bedroom window
sheepishly rounds up the cold.
bare skins sink under blankets.

I Miss You

Sleepy paws resting
Adamantly on my shins;
Taken for granted.

i dig this one. haikus are wonderful to begin with, but i like how you tie THREE together inTWO ONE work.

Thank you, ES; I liked your pun too I think I might have abused the ethos of the Haiku a bit by putting three together, but as a trilogy they become an allegory, so I thought I'd try to push the boundaries a little.

i disagree. the best works push boundaries - they balance between taking us outside of our comfort zone while letting us maintain a feeling of safety. i definitely think you made the right choice in combining all 3.

Thank you. I'm glad they sit peacefully with each other.
