The Wait

He was always so calm

And she always played so coy.

But there was rough waters churning

The storm was right there beneath the surface

Just waiting...

He had been  bitter

And she had been broken

The sharp glass shards cutting into her arms

And the binds tightening around her

Just waiting...

And he was late again

And she was impatient again.

The crack was working its way up from the foundation

And spreading its branches upwards to the sky

Just waiting...

He came in with a smile.

She came back with a slap.

And there it was...

The wait was over.

He held his stinging face

While she picked up the last of her dignity.

He was in shock

And she was gone.

Vangoman like it- The truth without hairspray or "make-up" -love the crack in the foundation and it's spreading it branches upward, very relevant to this situation. It also has a sad anger to the piece, and the ending leaves me wondering if she...

It also has a sad anger to the piece, and the ending leaves me wondering if she is really gone or just gone. Then again as U know, I have always enjoyed your work and it's quality. Nice job my Pulsar.

This might be the part that you don't want us to see...perhaps? or its just fun to change like a catapillar into a butterfly, winter to spring to summer and then?

Thanks Wicked! Van-hmmmm yeah we do change over time. I liked the pic with the bike but this one with you smiling is really great. Actually the pink thing-of-a-magiggy ( I call them my 'Totems') and this painting are both my artwork. And perhaps...

Thanks Wicked! Van-hmmmm yeah we do change over time. I liked the pic with the bike but this one with you smiling is really great. Actually the pink thing-of-a-magiggy ( I call them my 'Totems') and this painting are both my artwork. And perhaps they are ways to show glimpses of my other sides...the thing about being an artist and/or a writer is when you start chipping away at the rock, you start to see all the different facets.

Again thank you Van...no, not a self-portrait. This piece is actually going to be in my one-person show in December.
