“Rosamond”

Rosamond California just a pencil sketch on a map

Eyes linger on desert birds made of water and sand

With hands laughing and hearts painting their plans

Open truck door-open mind-open hand kiss so refine

As he aligns and defines her waiting soft white hand

.

She slides across fresh linen thanking him for that

The Mexican tips his best Sunday hat

As she reacts letting her sky kisses fly

It’s not the physical courtesy’s that beautifies

It’s the character contained in each of their eyes

.

From desert water and sand God builds a woman and a man

Smiles pile onto her face color blind eyes willingly surmise

The love she’ll surprises him with will change everything

The candlelight kiss is just a flickering lick of a wick

That cannot be tamed in this hot American Mexican flame

.

Sirens blare as others glare into a new bilingual art

Emotions dare to dance like Fred Astaire

For this waltz found in their heart

Love is rare when it cares

Enough to never compare two separate parts

.

Rosamond California, Agriculture and chances

Mexican and American mix fairy tale romances

Trust is that bridge built across water to sand

Love is the mortar between woman and man

Acceptance the truth to help others understand

.

Love lives without these borders beliefs or races

We’ve as many differences as chances we’ve wasted

Eventually the world must succumb to its senses

And realize were all trapped in love gentle graces

Nothing is as illegal as repossessing human essence
