The gift of your breathe

The continuous rythym of your heartbeat

The sweet sound of your cries

All things I will never know

And though you were not fit for life

You were the only life I treasured so

With tears I expect your departure

Not fully formed so,

Your sweet corpse lay now in my womb.

The soured blood pulled you from me,

Hands, eyes, face, all formed more,

More than the experts had said,

and I looked at you, for eternity,

am still looking at you, Forever,

the child that never could be,

never will be,

That now lay beneath the jefferson rose,

Forever present in me,

Never present.

Oh my... you are in my thoughts and prayers. My heart aches for you and I am so sorry for your loss. Losing an unborn child truly does make a woman feel empty... you chose a most appropriate title.

I am utterly devastated by your poem. I won't say anything more.
