He watches you

when you're not looking

Apollo's muse

Calliope's child

His Father is the Sun

His Mother--the Moon

Always holding out

He wants it soon

Tangible to the finger's touch

He talks to you

when you're not talking

He chases you

when you're not following

Orpheus knows

the best is yet to come

to fruition

He holds onto you

with all of his might, like animal glue

He's afraid to lose, afraid of

Falling behind

He's a dream

He's a scheme--you've imagined

He's a rejection

awaiting to happen

Can he be conjured by you?

Waiting to be needed by you

Fluctuating like the ebb and flow

of the tides by daylight till night

He needs

someone to love

for all time

A  pristine heart of gold

He yearns for something more

than mere lust

Orpheus feels

Orpheus grows

Orpheus forever
