It rolls in wave upon wave

Heartache in play she begins

Truthful feelings she must persuade

To leave love and me behind again

..

A prisoner sentenced for life

Imprisoned without the bars

Confinement without the stripes

Pardoning heartache and scars

..

She rolls out wave upon wave

Cuffed to her escaping heart

Pretending a life she must save

Her own freedom and a new start

..

Fooled by FM radio love songs

Romancing in warm beach nights

Age she’s forgotten has long gone

Has found her in morning beach light

..

Wave upon wave in her convertible

The palm trees wave as she drives

Home where I will be patiently waiting

Open arms for the love of my life

This makes me sentimental

I'm glad it evoked feelings in you, afterall it's what makes us "us" even though sentimental is more often found in the sad range of feelings?

Yes, I suppose, sentimental with a twinge of sadness. I could be the woman in this piece cuffed to my escaping heart, fooled by FM love songs. If I had to quote all the similarities between myself and her I would just be plaguerizing... lol ...

This is one of my favorites of yours
