Fault

Star InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar Inactive

Fault

The deepest fault runs through the earth

Through my head into my history

My scars will make me

Before they succeed to break me

It must be our fault

We arrived

The guilt must be our own

We survived

Fractured remains of glass

We must be

To live in the cracks

On the edge of society

Splintered down the centre

Through the sides

The thorns of blackest vines

Constraining

Like a fissure through the dirt

I will run

Because I have lived it

And many times have I collapsed

The gap has widened

To swallow me down

The hungry pit of poverty

The yawning pockets of jealousy

The struggle grinds on

And wounds run deep

And ruptures eventually bleed

Anger and hate has done this to me

The deepest fault runs through the earth

Through my heart into my history

My scars have made me

Before they succeeded to divide me

I like this. It works (well within my interpretation it does).

Thanks for your words, sometimes I just try to put down memories into words, painful though they may be...they have a place in the poetry...trying to make sense of some of them, would mean delving into the past... "R"
